Parentified: A Group For Parentified Adult Children

For the adults who had to grow up too soon — this space is for you.

This is an 8-week virtual group for adults (18+) who took on adult responsibilities as kids — the caretakers, fixers, and “strong ones.” This group helps individuals explore how early parentification impacts boundaries, relationships, and self-worth, while offering tools for self-compassion, emotional healing, and authentic connection.

Is This You?

  • You were the responsible one — the peacemaker, the problem-solver, the “mature for your age” kid.

  • As an adult, you’re the go-to friend/partner who holds it all together — even when you’re exhausted.

  • You struggle to set boundaries without guilt and often feel overextended.

  • You’re great at understanding others but feel disconnected from your own needs.

  • You sometimes feel like you don’t know who you are outside of helping and fixing.

If you nodded along, you’re not alone — and this group is for you.

What We’ll Explore:

  • People-pleasing & perfectionism

  • Anxiety, overfunctioning & burnout

  • Identity beyond caretaking

  • Guilt, resentment & anger (and how to move through them)

  • Boundaries & emotional responsibility (what’s mine, what’s not)

  • Secure connection: choosing relationships that feel safe, mutual, and kind

  • Mind–body regulation for stress and hypervigilance

  • $75 per session is the standard fee, with sliding scaling options available.

  • Life happens. Just let me know as soon as possible. Because this is a closed, limited-size group, missed sessions are typically charged to protect the group container.

  • Absolutely. This space is LGBTQIA+ affirming, body-liberating, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive. Come as you are.
